History

Since its very early days, Boreal pursued a research and development program to improve the performance of rock shoes and boots for hikers and mountaineers. We produce all climbing shoes, trekking and mountaineering boots in-house at our factory in Villena, Spain. Many employees stay at BOREAL for their entire careers. The company values and rewards the employees and we believe this is reflected in the consistent high quality of the footwear produced.

Philosophy

BOREAL has always focused on gaining first-hand experience and input through close collaboration with the world’s best climbers and mountaineers. It is also necessary to have the right commercial vision, manufacturing facilities and the passion to develop the revolutionary products which have so widely influenced the outdoor footwear market.

With a knitted upper made from recycled materials and a Michelin outsole for major grip, the Sendai Vent is perfect both for summer approaches and scrambles and for heading towards the office. The Sendai Vent was designed in partnership with solesbyMichelin. This new outsole uses the high-performance Michelin rubber compound and the rugged tread design to provide greater traction in all weather conditions. Moreover the shoe has an integrated toe-cap for more durability and protection.

The Heel Fit System (HFS) consists of anatomically sculpted pieces of foam padding which hold the heel comfortably and securely in place to avoid unwanted movements. The Sendai Vent has a lightweight knitted textile upper made from recycled materials, with a PU AirNet lining combining to give great comfort and breathability.
