History

“Ecoalf was born in 2009, both the name and concept of the brand came after the birth of my two sons: Alfredo and Álvaro. I wanted to create a truly sustainable fashion brand and I believed the most sustainable thing to do was to stop using natural resources in a careless way to ensure those of the next generation. Recycling could be a solution if we were able to make a new generation of recycled products with the same quality and design as the best non recycled. 12 Years after, our mission and vision remains intact, if possible with more strength and clarity than ever.

technology at your feet

Ecoalf and Michelin have jointly developed their first shoe sole made from the rubber “wasted” in mainstream sole production. The developers set out to strike the best balance between eco-friendly manufacturing and a high-performing product. Following a string of tests, they decided to use 20% recovered rubber to maintain a high level of performance in the soles, which will feature in the new “John Moccasins” collection of moccasins for men and women, available from March 18. The process cuts down on the amount of raw materials used, limits waste and improves manufacturing efficiency by not only reducing the number of steps, but also CO2 emissions and water consumption.
Made from unique and eco-friendly, lightweight materials, including a fabric knitted using “Ecoalf Ocean” yarn, the shoes are unisex and lend themselves perfectly to day-to-day wear thanks to the grip, versatility and flexibility that have come to define Ecoalf’s collections. Where esthetics are concerned, Michelin drew design inspiration for the soles from the sculptural forms of its MICHELIN Pilot Sport automotive tires.

Hybrid 1 by jv international

Hybrid 1 technologies refers to the recovery of waste materials deriving from previous productions process of rubber products and reintegration in sole compound.

Thanks to Hybrid 1 technologies, it is possible to obtain a range of compounds that aim to reduce the environmental impact from the process while maintaining an high level of performance.
