History

Proudly Canadian, Royer has been a global leader in designing and manufacturing safety footwear for the world’s toughest conditions since 1934. From its earliest origins, the ROYER® brand has been a true example of “Respect for work”. The convictions of its founder, Louis-Philippe, have been passed down through generations. “Do the right things”, “Do things right” and “Give an extra effort”, as he used to say, are our organization’s core values and pledges of ROYER® quality. Today, our mission is to perpetuate this DNA of respect, rigour and perseverance and make ROYER® the essential and unchallenged brand for professionals.

Philosophy

At ROYER, our expertise in cold weather conditions is born out of necessity, from a region where winter dominates half the year. This necessity has driven us to develop a wide range of products using premium materials and state-of-the-art technologies engineered to thrive in the harshest cold weather conditions.

When developing the GLACIUS™ boots, our team ensured that the boots were efficient in terms of thermal protection and protective elements while not compromising comfort. Mission accomplished: our GLACIUS™ boots offer a thermal comfort rating of -60°C/-76°F., thanks to several layers of high-quality insulation. In addition, premium components and several unique features separate the GLACIUS ™ from the competition, such as our R-THERM™ insulation and O-THERM™ insoles with Ortholite® foam
Michelin’s reputation is well-established in the tire industry. Our partnership has resulted in a revolutionary sole that maintains its unique properties in the harshest cold weather conditions. The unique compound that makes up the MICHELIN® sole found in our GLACIUS™ boots maintains consistent performance and remains flexible in frigid temperatures, providing the user with remarkable traction on snow. We also tested the flex resistance of the soles at low temperatures, and they performed very well, maintaining flexibility and durability at 2 million flexes.

Winter Technology by jv international

The Winter technology offers solutions to enhance the grip on ice, packed snow and slippery surfaces at low temperatures. Through specific technical design elements, combined with a specific rubber compound, it is possible to achieve excellent grip and stability performances in cold conditions.
