The original Marana was an incredibly durable shoe, but contrary to most skate shoes, the upper was so long-lasting that the rubber outsole could not keep up. In an effort to continuously improve the most durable skateboarding footwear on the market, etnies joined forces with one of the world’s top manufacturers of premium rubber to translate the performance and durability of Michelin tires to the outsole of a shoe. Now in its seventh year of partnership – the etnies x Michelin Marana is, without doubt, one of the most durable shoes ever put together. The fused-on, injected rubber toe cap provides maximum durability and abrasion resistance for a long lasting upper.
The Marana also includes a padded tongue and collar, Pro Foam 1 Polyurethane insole and full-length flex grooves in the Michelin performance rubber outsole for ultimate flexibility. With an STI Evolution Foam midsole, allowing you to skate or ride throughout the day with full protection from continuous impact. It also has hidden lace loops for lace protection, while the outsole features an exposed STI Evolution Foam Icon logo and a beefy tread designed to last by including both a traditional herringbone and car tire-like tread pattern. The new collection for spring 2022 also sees some beautiful, fresh colourways and, as always, a completely vegan offering.
