History

20 years ago, the Ekoï brand was born in Roubaix with the aim of being different and international. Starting with its name Ekoï, a little strange with the umlauts on the i, as if to already emphasise that it would be different from the others at a time when Italian and American sounding brands dominated most of the world cycle market. From 2001 to 2008, Ekoï was sold through traditional wholesalers and major sports chains. With helmet and eyewear products, pioneering models and a market entry with excellent value for money.

Philosophy

The Ekoï website was conceived in 2008, somewhat by chance, to present directly to the public the new products that were beginning to emerge at a high rate and the professionals who wear them. This was the beginning of a unique international success story, as Ekoï, in 2010, decided to change its business model and sell only through the internet, worldwide, which accelerated its development in a lightning-fast manner. Success was immediate, and Ekoï gradually expanded its offer, to propose step by step all the cyclist’s equipment, from head to toe. Present in the 4 disciplines of road, triathlon, mountain bike and more recently Gravel, something few brands are able to do.

The Michelin components on the sole – toe cap and heel counter – exclusively developed by JV International for Ekoï, are co-molded. This process leads to the elimination of glues and screws, thus increasing the shoe’s lightness, a characteristic always sought after and fundamental in road cycling.
Additionally, the sole features an innovative combination set. To the woven carbon structure – providing further guarantees of lightness and rigidity – a system of different thickness gradations such as on the toe cap and heel counter has been added to maximize performance, protect the carbon from ground contact, and increase the cyclist’s safety when disengaging from the pedals. The components are made of a thermoplastic polymer with a limited percentage of rubber, further enhancing the sole’s protection. With the Ekoï pro team C12 model, we achieve maximum energy return during pedaling, and greater grip duringwalking phases.
