History

Vision Group has been in the forefront in development of fly fishing equipment for the European market and beyond since 1997. The origins of the company are in Northern Europe and it is clearly seen in the names of the products like Musta, Mycket Bra, Sisu, Abborre and etc..

Nowadays Vision has a wide range of products from clothing to hard gear in all price ranges. Both the staff and pro team consist of some of the most recognizable names in fly fishing. Vision has also been one of the first fly fishing companies to produce a wide variety of films on Youtube that has shaped the European fly fishing scene significantly. Fly TV is a production made in co-operation with Vision and a Swedish production company called Kanalgratis. These films are both instructive and entertaining.

Vision has been a big part of development of new ways to fly fish and introducing new species to target. For example pike fly fishing was something that a small amount of people enjoyed just 10-15 years ago. Vision played a big part of making this predator style fly fishing main stream.

Fly fishing is all about interacting with nature, observing it and in big part giving back. Whether it’s fishing itself or conserving waters so future generations can enjoy nature and the sport. Vision is playing its role and making all the efforts to be as green as possible. This means for example going away from plastic packaging and having a product range called Save The Natives. Part of the sales of these products go to the Save the Natives foundation donated annually to a selected project aiming to improve the conditions of endangered native trout and/or Atlantic salmon stocks in Europe.

Vision Group is based in Hyvinkää, Finland and has a worldwide network of distributors.

A modern, lightweight wading shoe

Technology at your feet

The TPU print in designed areas give good wear resistance without making the shoe too bulky and heavy. The shoe is easy to get in and it tightens easily. For added strength the stitch lines have their own grooves and the EVA midsole and the front bumper of the Michelin sole are stitched to the shoe’s upper.
The Michelin sole which we have designed together with the world famous Michelin tire manufacturer offers multiple benefits over many other rubber soles.
The front bumper is built into the outsole so there’s no possibility for them to be separated. The pattern of the sole is inspired by Michelin LTX A/S tire with modifications targeted for wading. The lugs on the sides have aggressive sculptures giving you extra grip for slopes and muddy paths. The lugs in the middle have wave sipings for adherence and adaptability over uneven surface of the rocks. The front and heel sculptures are designed to take the wear and tear during longer walks and their pattern adds traction when needed. For extremely slippery & slimy conditions we made recessed positions for our Tungsten Carbide studs which can be added if needed.

Safety first

The rubber compound itself is a mixture of an off road and Scandinavian winter tire compounds. Just like the studless winter tires on snow these soles give you a very good grip on rocks. The more you put pressure on the sole the harder it grips the rock surface, as the soft compound with sipped lugs adapt over the uneven surface.
In addition to a better grip the shoe has also a better feel while wading. The soft and well adaptive outsole combined with flexible EVA midsole lets you feel what’s under your shoe, but same time it gives enough support even in the hardest of conditions. Longer walks in mind it still rolls comfortably and offers good torsional stiffness.

Maximum comfort has now maximum grip

Technology at your feet

Well-fitting leather shoe which offers great support both in wading and walking has now the Michelin outsole. The upper is a combination of water treated nubuck leather, microfibre and nylon mesh. The laces start far in front allowing you to tighten the shoe perfectly according to your own foot shape. This together with the characteristics of leather make these one of the most comfortable wading shoes in the market. Triple and double stitched seams, stitched & glued midsole and strong rubber bumper, which is part of the outsole, makes this a super strong shoe.
