Road running is the sport of running on a measured course over an established road. Road running events may involve large numbers of runners who take part to the so-called half marathons or marathons. However there are standard race distances such as 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon, races can be any distance.
Ther main difference with trail running is that road running takes place on established and mantained roads, sidewalks or bridges, often involving large cities and urban areas. Road running is easily accessible to large populations, as it is easier to find accessible roads and thus road running. City sidewalks, paved walking and running paths in cities are the perfect place where to start your workout. Furthermore, it is easier to join a running group and to deal with navigating terrain, as it is less challenging and obstacles. You just need a good equipment and willpower.
