The Michelin-soled Pro model by the American ethnies brand, Joslin, is dedicated to skater Chris Joslin, former winner of the prestigious “Battle At The Berrics”. This shoe, low cut, stands out for its excellent workmanship and resistance. The sole, inspired by the Michelin tire, guarantees greater grip on the skateboard. The design of the tread in the front area has large gussets to ensure maximum durability.
In addition, multiple flex lines in the central part ensure control of the board and responsiveness. Deep grooves at the rear reduce weight. Large contact surface area in the heel area increases support and cushions impact. The upper is made of suede leather.
The midsole, made of STI Evolution foam protects from impacts and traumas resulting from skateboarding. The heel area is reinforced and the insole is in comfortable Pro Foam 1, removable. The shoe is also equipped with “toe cap” protection, padded mesh tongue and mesh collar.

The Marana Slip XLT model is a brand new etnies skateboarding shoe for spring 2021 that features the super-durable Michelin rubber compound, which is inspired by that designed for the Marana model, but applying these proven characteristics to a vulcanized slip-on construction. The side of the shoe is super durable, with double-wrapped foxing tape that fits into the rubber toe cap and the same goes for the extra heel support.
In addition to being particularly resistant and the shoe features some aesthetic details typical of etnies such as Lo-Cut from the 90s and the goring construction for easy access and a secure fit. Finally, it features a “drop to the ground” ProFoam2 PU insole that is reinforced at the heel for impact protection.

With the aim of improving the toughest skateboarding footwear on the market, Etnies has joined forces with one of the world’s leading premium rubber producers to translate the performance and durability of Michelin tires into the sole of a shoe. Thanks to the worldwide licensee JV International, that produces Michelin-branded soles, the Marana shoe is undoubtedly one of the strongest shoes ever put together.
The upper includes a toe cap in cast-injected rubber for major comfort and performance, an easy fit on feature for functionality, and a Pro Foam 1 polyurethane insole. Moreover, the shoe features grooves along the entire sole for maximum flexibility. Furthermore the sturdy tread pattern has been engineered to last, including both a traditional a herringbone and that of a tire tread, coming from the Michelin tradition.
